A Spotlight on Sweet: A Literary Confection

submit-header

One thing (among many) that I love about the journal Sweet: A Literary Confection is that they spotlight previous contributors and give them a chance to talk a bit about their writing and reading. It was fun to think about what I’m doing with reading and writing at the moment, and putting it into words.

You can check out the spotlight here.

And, if you want to read the original piece I published with them, “On Book Curses: An Apology,” you can check it out here.

Stay safe and sane, and happy social distancing!

  1. I love the illustrations that you have with your writing! Ah, an ode to borrowed or stolen books. Tee hee. I borrowed RR Martin’s first Game of Thrones book from my friend Patrick and he was NOT happy that I returned it – looking well-read. Hahahhaa.

I’m going to have to check out your piece in Hobart, too. I’ve combed their site trying to make sense of it many times. 😛

    1. Haha, thank you! 😀 I once asked an author to sign a book that had a rippled corner on the cover from water my toddler had spilled (I had left the book on the table, but just a little bit of water got on it–the rest of the book was fine). I was embarrassed and very apologetic about it, but she was super nice. She signed it “for toddlers and well-loved books.” So now I tell myself we have a collection of “well-loved books.”
